The Stage - 26th November 2010
I really liked crooner Mark Monroe. Not least because he commanded the
dance floor in front of the stage from the minute he came on, engaging the
audience and singing with the confidence of a seasoned performer. His choice
of set wasn’t anything out of the ordinary, but he has a booming voice and
sings with a smile. And he made it all look very easy.
The Stage - January 2005
“Introduced as a modern day heart throb and fresh from his appearance on Granada’s Stars in Their Eyes, Mark Monroe proved to be exactly the smouldering crooner we were promised. Some great backing tracks were offered, in particular a superbly performed version of Tony Bennett’s ‘The Good Life’. Saving his ‘Stars in Their Eyes rendition of ‘Release me’ until last, Monroe proved to be stunningly accurate Engelbert sound-alike.”
